Total Focus On Your
Sports Injury
Bringing all of the important strands together.
How?
Together we'll discuss & understand the history and background of your injury.
Evaluate the nature of the problem.
Explain & discuss with you the cause and workings of your injury.
Agree with you an action plan; to address and resolve the issue.
Apply appropriate therapy to treat the injury or dysfunction.
Provide you with the means to promote recovery by means of
- Self-Treatment,
- Individual Mobility & Flexibility Programmes,
- Strength Programmes and other relevant and appropriate advice.

Working with most mechanical physical problems, for example:
ü Achilles tendonitis
ü Back problems, especially where muscle spasm is a prime consideration.
ü Biomechanical foot problems. Vasyli trained in provision of corrective orthotics.
ü Frozen shoulder
ü Golfers elbow
ü Joint restrictions caused by osteo-arthritis, stiffness, old injuries, lack of use, or postural problems.
ü Knee pain
ü Muscle strains
ü Muscle tension particularly in the upper back from work or life-style stress, whiplash, or postural problems.
ü Overuse injuries: Work related, provoked through sport or just living, caused by inefficient movement patterns e.g. RSI
ü Plantar fasciitis
ü Rehabilitation exercise programmes to help rehabilite chronic injuries that are on the mend or following illness or surgery.
ü Sprains; Ligament injuries to ankles, knees and facet joints.
ü Shin splints: medial tibial stress syndrome.
ü Tennis elbow

Treatment Methods
Once the nature of any injury has been assessed and established, we need to tackle it; here are the methods that we might use:
Deep Tissue Massage; the manual manipulation and treatment of the soft tissues of the body; muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons.
During treament you may experience a wide range of manual techniques;
- Massage; a variety of kneading, stroking, pressure and shearing movements.
- Trigger point therapy - also called Neuro Muscular Technique(NMT)
- Myofascial release
- Soft tissue release therapy - also called Active Release Technique (ART)
- Assisted stretching - Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
A powerful electrically operated G5 massage machine may be used to apply deep and vigorous treatments.
The aim is to:
- Relax and soften tense and contracted knots in the muscles,
- Break down and remodel scar tissue,
- Reduce and eliminate adhesions,
- Promote circulation & enhance blood flow to congested muscle,
- Aid tissue drainage and lymphatic flow,
- Assist the removal of metabolic waste,
- Stretch tissues to improve local flexibility,
- Increase or decrease muscle tone,
- Relax the nervous system.
As a means to promote change within tissue, massage sometimes works most effectively when deeply applied and can be uncomfortable, but the discomfort is never too painful to bear. Treatments are carefully adjusted to suit you personally.
Ultrasound; Applied to promote and accelerate the local healing process.
Stretching; Assisted stretches during the treatment session and ongoing homework exercises that restore normal range of movement and a return to normal tissue function.
Strength Exercises; Graded programmes tailored to your needs can correct biomechanical inefficiencies, postural problems, or help you to restore the body to full function when movements are impaired.
Self Treatment: Injuries are seldom resolved by a wave of a magic wand; during the healing period you can push the process along with useful range of home treatments.
Orthotics; Assessment and supply; can be a very valuable and effective method to correct biomechanical inefficiencies in the foot.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation; Works towards restoration of atrophied muscle.
TeNS; Very effective in pain control; a useful aid.
Onward Referral; During consultation it may become clear that your problem could be better dealt with through a different discipline e.g. chiropractor or a doctor, I pride myself on my personal ethical policy and have no difficulty in recommending a different approach.
