Women's Fitness Classes
Thank You, for your interest in our fitness and health classes, here are just a few details, to give you an idea of what we're all about.
I'd like to introduce you to a fresh approach to improving your fitness, health and general well-being.
Classes are held every Thursday at the well-appointed and comfortable Pagham Village Hall.
Sessions include optional assistance and help on weight control and healthy eating guidance and support, if you want it.
Our classes last for about an hour, exercising in a friendly women only group.
Firstly; we move through an easy warm-up and limber up routine -just to get the body ready for action.
Next, we work on mobility and flexibility, stretching in order to improve the range of movement in the joints and muscles.
In the next phase we raise the tempo and work on stamina boosting and energy burning; promoting endurance, boosting the metabolic rate and burning up a few calories.
This is followed by a comprehensive muscle toning and shaping routine, particularly aimed at re-modelling the parts of the body that you'd like to tone up.
We round off with a few minutes of essential and deserved relaxation practice.
The exercises are effective, safe and good fun. Everyone can get fitter by working within their own individual personal limits, it's enlivening and non-competitive.
We're not involved in an aerobics class. Your class leader, Chris, is a well-qualified and long experienced sports coach, active in local athletics and a qualified and practising therapist, working in clinical and sports massage.
Rest assured that all of the exercises are safe and that any special needs that you have can be catered for.
Interested in losing some weight? Almost everybody who wants to change their body shape tackles it by cutting down on food, we all know how tough that can be and how it seldom brings any permanent and lasting success.
Traditionally, when trying to lose weight, we go onto diet, restricting the amount that we are allowed to eat. Typically this has poor long-term results and it just doesn't last. Health experts now agree that it makes far more sense to concentrate your efforts on burning off excess fat with healthy exercise whilst eating a health promoting diet.
My approach is based on this premise, the question of diet is addressed by not eating less but by eating differently, eating healthily. This is fundamental in long -term weight loss but it is also a positive move in addressing many of todays health concerns. Additionally I aim to encourage you in enjoyable exercise that will improve your figure, your health and fitness more effectively than diet alone ever could.
Regular classes take place at Pagham Village hall every Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. The choice is entirely yours.
At the beginning of every class we have a confidential weigh-in for those taking part in the optional weight control programme.
A steady flow of constructive, supportive and helpful advice sheets are available at all of the classes, you can raise any specific health & fitness queries and be assured of a confidential and helpful response.
Classes are £4.00, on a pay as you go basis, there's no tie in to direct debits or financial commitments, you simple pay & play.
Our classes have been running for 7 years now and you can talk to some of our successful members - they will tell you just how good it is! The group is friendly, fun, welcoming and supportive.You don't need any special equipment, just comfortable fitting clothing, and a low-heeled pair of shoes. An exercise mat or blanket is handy for the floor exercises and a bottle of water will be useful to ensure that you do not become de-hydrated.
